Proud Supporters of Fairtrade Fortnight 2020
At Coliman Allfresch, we are proud supporters of Fairtrade Fortnight 2020, which runs from 24th February – 8th March. The campaign aims to intensify the spotlight on Fairtrade and the positive impact it has on people and the environment.
What is Fairtrade Fortnight?
For two weeks each year, thousands of individuals, companies and groups across the UK come together to share the stories of the people who grow our food and drinks and who grow the cotton in our clothes, people who are often exploited and underpaid.
This year, Fairtrade Fortnight is campaigning for the right to a living income for farmers.
What is Fairtrade Fortnight Campaigning for?
This year, Fairtrade Fortnight is campaigning for:
1. Price: The Fairtrade Premium and the Fairtrade Minimum Price are driving real change, right now. Fairtrade farmers and workers have a safety net that protects them from low prices for their crops.
2. Premium: Fairtrade farmers and workers choose how they spend the Premium, which they can use to make their farms and communities stronger. It also allows them to invest in different ways of making money.
3. Women’s empowerment: Fairtrade is also supporting more women cocoa farmers to take the reins and stand tall alongside men. Fairtrade Standards provide a voice in their community, are represented in decision-making and benefit from Fairtrade. We know that independent income in the hands of women brings positive change to communities even faster.
4. Environment: While you can’t protect the planet without protecting its people first, rigorous Fairtrade Standards support farmers to protect the environment and the Fairtrade Premium is enabling them to invest in climate resilience and adaptation

At Coliman Allfresch, we take an active role in the production and quality control process of all of the products we import and export. This guarantees quality for our customers. It also ensures that our producers are working in fair conditions and have a stable income. We are proud supporters of Fairtrade Fortnight 2020.

Andrade Sun Farms Supports Fairtrade
Our Brazilian partner, Andrade Sunfarms, is also both Fairtrade and GRASP certified. As a lime producer, they seek to improve the life quality of our employees through projects that are conducted with the Fairtrade Premium. Their core belief is that a great company must have a happy culture and satisfied employees as well as happy and satisfied clients. The main purpose of Andrade is to create jobs within the region.
