Andrade Sun Farms is a Brazilian company focused on the production and trading of fruit and vegetables, particularly citrus. Both the founder and president of the company, José Carlos da Cruz Andrade founded the company in 1978 and now, over 40 years later, it is headed up by the second and third generation. Andrade Sun Farms produces limes (Tahiti limes), as well as avocados. Limes currently account for 95% of the company’s exports.
The producer’s products are organic certified in Brazil, Europe, and the USA. The company has a strong focus on developing and maintaining a sustainable production system, aiming to recycle nutrients and implement the use of alternatives that minimise the environmental impact of the production cycle. They take a sustainable approach to everything that they do.
Following their innovations, Andrade influenced small producers within the region, as the Tahiti Lime began to gain importance and become more profitable, it continues to have a highly positive influence on the region’s economy. In fact, the evolution and predominance of the Tahiti Lime culture in the region, led by Andrade and followed by the small producers, now makes up 25% of all products exported by the São Paulo state.
Once a year, Andrade attends an ENPROTAHITI meeting with its producers to update and develop them with the purpose of continually improving the quality of the products that they produce and supply.

Brazilian limes have a thinner peel and fewer nitrogen fertilizers are used during the growing process, making the presence of nitrate low and the limes juicier. A least 40% of the fruit is juice.
